Half a moon hangs low in the sky
On the other side, the sun’s just as high

Two black birds chase off a hawk
The doodle dog and I are taking a walk

She stops to sniff every little thing
I stroll along, this song I sing

Now we head West, the sun’s in my eye
We wave and say hello to a fellow passer-by

Here is the school where we like to play ball
The sprinklers are on, and dog hears the call

She runs and she jumps, she barks and she bites
Doodle is a clown; behold joy, delight
